Last of these practice comics till Hourly Comic Day on Monday! So excited! There won't be a regular strip since I'll be spending the day in school and drawing hourlies. I'll post them for Tuesday then back to regular strips on Wednesday.

Again, Hourly Comic on Monday!!! Can't wait to see everyone else's work.

OC 51: Flashback

Photobucket

Trying out a new style. The old one took way too much time, especially during stressful school days. What do you guys think?

OC 50: Oreos

My wardrobe selection has always consisted of bright colors, even more so as a child growing up in the late 80s/early 90s. Anyone remember Day Glo's line of clothes and accessories? I was all over that stuff!

Also, a huge thanks to Monica of After Midnight Designs for donating awesome jewelry to DIYscene4charity

Hourly Comics 02

Experimenting with more styles and ways to make Hourly Comics. This was much faster but I don't like the look as much. Plus, scanning it in was a pain!

OC 49: Bathroom Humor

Look! Shiny new...uh...graphic...things. Haha! Round 2 of Hourly Comics practice coming up tomorrow. I'm trying out different styles. The last one took almost 30 minutes each hour!

OC 48: Tom Baker For The WIN!

Tom Baker/Dr. Who fans...I realize the scarf is nowhere near an accurate replica of the pattern. I got as close as I could without crossing the line into anal. LOL! Yes, I really am this dorky.

OC 47: Flood!

Sorry about missing yesterday. I had a horrid time of cleaning up the fallen and shattered bits of roof, coupled with loads of homework. On the plus side, school may be cancelled tomorrow!

Hourly Comic: 01

With Hourly Comic Day coming up, I decided to practice on Saturday. Learned a few things...namely that I draw slow. Haha! It was loads of fun, though, and I think I might do it again this weekend. I'm also thinking of making a mini-comic out of this to give away to promote the comic.

EDIT: I just realized I wrote "Feb 21" in there. Oops! It's Feb 1. :)

How was your weekend?

OC 41: The Twilight Zone

Micah's theory, however, is that in the Twilight Zone I would have normal hair! What do you guys think?

OC 40: Life is a Comedy

I can't believe I'd never heard of Bottomless Belly Button! I seriously live under a rock. It's a frightening 720 page graphic novel by Dash Shaw but I devoured it in 2 hours. Its a breath-taking book that needs to be experienced to understand just how awesome it it! Highly recommended.

Filler: Sharpie comics

When I was young, I drew hundreds of 3 page comics on plain white paper and Sharpie. There's a certain excitement to drawing an entire comic off the top of your head, no pre-outlined story or character, no erasing, just you and the toxic fumes! Hahaha!

I decided to make up a quick "comic workshop/challenge" with Micah where we completed a 3 page comic plus cover in under an hour. A problem he has is he tends to spend so much time dwelling on The Perfect character Design and the Perfect Story + Script that he never actually gets to making the damn thing. And once he did start, the tiniest mistake or road-bump was enough to derail him forever. My challenge was to come up with a character name and design in 5 minutes, then draw each page at 10 minutes each. Here's the result!
