Sometimes old things have a deep significance for us... but I'd say it might be a sign of things changing from the times that table has seen, to times more stable & prosper for you guys!
All my furniture is pretty beat up right now from my boys abusing it. When they're grown and I get new, nice stuff, I imagine it'll be a little sad to get rid of pieces that have so many memories attached to them.
